Killed by a Canon.: Wrench Works

Car shops are all the same. They work on cars. Sure some specialize in domestic, some in foreign, some in engines and some on cosmetics. In the end, it's all work relating to cars. So what makes one shop stand out among the rest?

Service. And who provides the service?

The crew of course! And what does Wrench Works have? A genuinely amazing crew of honest and hard working individuals.

My experience at Wrench Works went like this...

I came out to photograph my friend Henry's engine swap, at Wrench Works, who are one of his sponsors. I drove out to WW with my friend Tai in hopes to see his first engine swap. To our surprise as we pulled into the parking lot, there sat a gorgeous replica of Initial D's AE86 Trueno Sprinter, a time attack WRX, and a Sentra Se-R with a Jdm front end. We hadn't expected to run into such beautiful cars, so we were already blown away.

Upon our arrival the crew greeted us with welcoming hand shakes and encouraged us to make ourselves feel at home.

The vibe in the shop was completely relaxed and friendly. Every crew member was down to speak with us, and not just small talk, I mean full on conversations about past cars they'd owned, dream cars, you name it. Great guys, every single one of them.

As I photographed, I observed the crew at work. All very quick and knowledgable with what they were working on. No down time with these guys, just constant work with a clear direction. When Henry ran into issues with his swap, the crew came up with the solution in a matter of minutes and had it fixed in less time than it took to diagnose it. To say the least, I was impressed. Without doubt, I will be taking my car to Wrench Works next time I need some work done.
